Empowerment Therapy

It is with the greatest pleasure that I provide this reference letter for Brian J. Hubbard.

I have watched Mr. Hubbard speak on several occasions, but the most memorable was his performance at the State House on June 27, 2001 for Deaf Blind Awareness Day. Put simply, the talk given then to an audience of over one hundred people was flawless. What is truly extraordinary about Mr. Hubbard's speaking talents is the incredible fluency of his verbal skills for someone who is pre-lingually deaf as well as totally blind. Not only his language skills smooth and resonant without the slightest trace of speech impediment; but his delivery style is enthusiastic, inspiring and even charismatic. When speaking, his presence is truly mesmerizing.

When Mr. Hubbard gave his speech, his entire audience was totally captivated. And while briefly glancing at some of those around me, I could see many eyes misting. In his empowerment message, based on his book, From Emptiness to Empowerment, he inspiringly informs his audience for the need for self-love, self-awareness, personal responsibility and genuine love of others if we are to make this a better world. At the conclusion of his talk Mr. Hubbard got a sustained standing ovation. Without a doubt, he is one of the best speakers I have ever heard. He has truly inspired me in dealing with my own disability as a result of an automobile accident.
