"Despite
the challenges of retinitis pigmentosa, a disease which eventually caused blindness
and severe hearing impairment, Brian J. Hubbard, LICSW has lived a successful
and personally rewarding life.
Throughout years of successfully meeting challenges and helping others to do the same, he has developed, after thirty years experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, a system of "empowerment therapy" which shows people how to turn disabilities into strengths.
He now shares this unique system with others through writing, speaking engagements, and personal counseling. Anyone with any kind of disability, physical, mental or emotional, will undoubtedly benefit immensely from Mr. Hubbard's system of empowerment therapy.
However, it is very important to note that Brian J. Hubbard's
products and services are by no means restricted to the disabled. His services
and products are equally beneficial for any person who has suffered from a loss
whether it be a natural loss (e.g. getting older) or a traumatic loss (e.g.
loss of a job or a loved one through death, divorce or relocation) Since everyone
has had to deal with a loss, natural and/or traumatic, Brian J. Hubbard's services
and products apply to anyone having difficulty coping
with losses!

"The training approach you provide is central to the lives of all people, and especially suited to the unique needs and characteristics of persons with disabilities. For too long our field has not considered the individual's goals and aspirations in the rehabilitation process. The method you have implemented with success in your previous work addresses this weakness and empowers the individual to take control of his or her own life." Michael Bullis, Ph.D., University of Oregon, College of Education, Department of Special Education and Community Resources.
"Being an individual challenged with blindness caused by retinitis pigmentosa, I find Brian Hubbard to be motivating and inspirational. In his knowledge of the human issues and dynamics of painful losses, Brian not only clarifies the grieving process very articulately and sensitively, but more importantly, through a clear step-by-step process, shows how to face the challenge by making positive associations with the pain of growth, making new meaning out of the experience of loss, and finding what I call "bridges" to discover alternative ways to meet our fundamental physical and emotional needs. Gordon Gund Chairman, Foundation Fighting Blindness Owner, NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers Owner, NHL's San Jose Sharks.
